Ferncliff Village
Browne Wheeler Engineers, Inc. recently completed planning, design and construction administration services for a 24-unit affordable housing development with an additional 24 future units. The project included roads, storm drainage, utility and other infrastructure for the community. Low impact development methods were used to reduce costs and enhance the environment. Construction of homes is presently underway. Browne Wheeler Engineers, Inc. has worked with the Bainbridge Housing Resources Board and other agencies to help create over 50 other affordable housing units.
Vineyard Lane.
This is a 60-unit condominium development located at the top of a steep ravine near downtown Bainbridge Island. We designed pervious pavement roadways teamed with conventional underground detention facilities to mitigate stormwater impacts to the ravine creek. The project included design of a sanitary sewer system including a lift station and a boring under a state highway to accommodate an 8-inch water supply line and a 4-inch sanitary sewer force main.
Ericksen Avenue Cottages.
We prepared a civil design for an 11-unit cottage development in Bainbridge Island. The compact site required careful coordination of underground utilities.
Port Blakely Area Development.
Browne Wheeler Engineers, Inc. designed over two miles of roadways, storm drainage, and water supply facilities for several Port Blakely area projects for Samson Family Land Company. These projects have been characterized as environmentally responsible, relatively low density developments which have provided excellent protection of the local environment.
